The Tresanti adjustable height desk is a comfortable and well priced desk within its market. Below is our review based on our own experience with the desk after having used it now for just over twelve months. The version my wife and I have tested, day in day out, over the last twelve months is the Tresanti grey height adjustable electric desk pictured above.

Tresanti adjustable height desk manual
Design and ergonomics
This model is the Tresanti 47 adjustable height desk, being 47 inches across as working desk top width. That is also the extent of the width of the whole desk. That means the desk will be able to fit into any space larger than 47 inches, however you will need access to the front right quarter to utilize the USB ports and lock button.
The Tresanti desk has a glass top overlay which is easy to clean and stain resistant. This glass overlay can troublesome when using a mouse but if you have a mousepad that’s not an issue. Personally, I prefer my mouse to be slightly raised from the desk top anyway for extra wrist support. We use a ruled cheap notepad and the mouse works fine. I can be controlling my mouse and the pad being underneath means all I have to do is pick up my pen laid next to the mouse and write then when done my hand is next to the mouse to pick back up again.
The front of the Tresanti adjustable height desk has a slight curve to accommodate your ability to lean in when required, thus giving your arms support while typing and using the mouse out to your side. Especially handy when you have long arms that spread out further.
The glass top can of course get cold in the winter if placed near an open window but in the summer the cool touch of the glass is really refreshing. Its also very durable and easy to clean as mentioned previously. We have dropped things over the last year on it by mistake and it doesn’t even dent.
Features and usability
The Tresanti adjustable desk is rather well equipped for its price range, it offers two 2.4 amp USB slots, a wireless desktop charging area and touchpad controlled electric height adjustable settings. The electric motor seems to be fairly robust, within the last year of use we haven’t had any issues with the motor. The Tresanti adjustable height desk also has three pre-set height settings so different users can set their own setting and not have to remember their own height preference. Alternatively, you can go from sitting to standing and save your preferred sitting height and standing height.
The touchpad controls can be very easily tampered with, sometimes again if you have long arms you can be leaning on them without noticing. Furthermore, we found our agile little cat was able to jump up on the desk and her little paws were enough to move the desk up and down. So kids, pets and your own accidental lean can move the desk. However, there is a very handy lock button on the side which stops the touchpad being pressed by accident. It is a press button so not as easy to tamper with by the accidental touch.
Be aware, if you have a power cut or unplug the desk and plug back in, the lock button resets and can be a surprise if you accidentally lean on the touchpad and it starts to move.
Some people are put off by the bar at the bottom of the desk, that personally doesn’t effect our use of the desk but can see how it can others. I tend to find I use it as a foot rest, sometimes my feet are on the floor and other times they are on the bar it’s a nice change of position. We very rarely if at all bump our shins on it.
The other setting available on the touchpad is also the timer, this is designed to remind you to stand up when you set it. If you set your morning to sit down and your afternoon to stand or vice versa, it can remind you to do so. Just a handy element they added.
We charge our phones on the wireless charging station on the right hand side of the Tresanti Desk, it can get a little warm but that’s normal with those wireless stations. Never had a real problem with that component either. The USB slots are very useful, we run a digital clock from that.
Probably our biggest issue we have with that is, when you adjust the height it re-sets the clock. From what we have figures out it cuts the power from the USB port for long enough when moving up or down that it resets. Not a massive deal breaker but we are a pampered generation these days and its the small inconveniences of having to reset the clock, goodness!
Finally the draw, its a solid build and the draw is also. It has a smooth action to it and doesn’t get sticky at all. It rolls out from under the desk top with ease and clips with a smooth clip into place. Ample space in there to be able to store note pads, pens, rulers, general stationary and so on.
In conclusion
The Tresanti adjustable height desk is good value for money and feels like a sturdy desk. We use it daily and its not failed us yet. It’s a good price (we will summarize below what we did at the top) for its range and getting rid of that old wooden desk for a desk that can be set to your exact height and charge your phone at the same time might be a good investment.
Certainly has been an important addition to our home office.
